15 YouTubers Who Dropped Out Of College or High School

Many YouTubers are college or high school dropouts and their fans do not know. Some YouTubers may openly explain what caused them to drop out but others do not. Also, many of these individuals chose to drop out in order to pursue their careers with YouTube. The YouTubers featured on this list are now very successful even though they do not have a college degree or a high school diploma.

1) Andrea Russett

Andrea Russett has almost 3 million subscribers on YouTube, and is known for her popularity on social media, vlogging on YouTube and acting. She attended a Catholic High School in Indiana in her teenage years but then decided to enroll in an online course after moving to California to pursue her dream of becoming famous. She was enrolled in an online school for about 6 months and then decided to drop out. She has not spoken much about her experience.

2) Jake Paul

Jake Paul is comedic YouTuber who has over 13 million subscribers on YouTube and becomes even more popular each day. Jake decided to drop out of high school when he was only 17 years old in order to achieve his dreams of becoming an actor. He never finished his high school career but is still one of the most successful YouTubers right now.

3) Casey Neistat

Casey Neistat is a famous YouTuber, filmmaker, vlogger and also a co-founder of the company Beme, which he sold to CNN. Casey had a rough time when he was younger and dropped out of high school during his sophomore year and never returned. After dropping out, he had a son at age 17, lived in a trailer park but then decided to move to New York City to begin his career. He has produced many films and well known YouTube videos. Casey Neistat is one of the most popular YouTubers and video producers and has come a long way even though he does not have a high school diploma or a college degree.

4) Kristen Leanne

Famous beauty guru Kristen Leanne is also another successful high school dropout. The reason that she dropped out, is due to her getting constantly bullied during school. Bullies targeted her because she was different than other students because she liked different music genres like alternative and rock. She transferred to multiple different schools with the goal of escaping the bullies but was not able to get away so she decided to drop out. She is now a very successful beauty guru on YouTube and has over 500 thousand subscribers to her YouTube channel.

5) Faze Rug

Faze Rug is a famous YouTuber known for his daily vlogs, challenges, pranks. He dropped out of San Diego Miramar College during his freshman year so he would be able to be a full-time YouTube star. He was not able to handle college and YouTube so he decided to drop out. Since then, Faze Rug has become extremely popular and has over 7 million subscribers.

6) Gabriel Conte

Famous YouTuber Gabriel Conte dropped out of Florida State University where he was going with the goal of getting his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Acting. He decided to drop out because he wanted to devote all of his attention to his YouTube career rather than being in college. He has become very successful and now has 1.5 + million subscribers on YouTube.

7) Morgz

Morgz is a well-known YouTuber who dropped out of high school at age 15 in order to be able to make YouTube videos full time. He enjoys being in front of a camera and making YouTube videos so much that he wanted to divert all of his attention to YouTube rather than school. He now has 2.6 million subscribers on YouTube and continues to become more and more popular each day.

8) Philip DeFranco

Philip DeFranco is a popular YouTuber with a channel that has just under 6 million subscribers.  He was studying at the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, and then the University of South Florida, but decided to drop out to continue creating his daily YouTube news show.  He has been extremely successful with growing his channel, and now has a wife and two kids.  His videos are usually controversial and include topics about politics and other YouTubers.

9) Wroetoshaw- (W2S)

Wroetoshaw, also known as W2S is the youngest member of the Sidemen. This is a group of FIFA players. Wroetoshaw dropped out of high school at age 17 and decided to make his YouTube career full time rather than part-time. He has 11.8 million subscribers to his YouTube channel which is a gaming channel dedicated to the game FIFA.

10) Nadeshot

Nadeshot is another gaming YouTuber who builds his channel on the popular shooting game “call of duty.”  “Nadeshot” or Matt, was offered a spot to compete in tournaments on a high ranking gaming team called “Optic.”  He took up the opportunity and quit his job, dropped out of college, and moved back to his parents to start preparing for tournaments.  He started winning more tournaments and got offered a spot at the “Optic gaming house” in Florida and his Youtube channel took off.  He has since retired from Optic, but still enjoys playing call of duty and other games for his youtube audience.

11) Tara Michelle

Tara Michelle is a Canadian YouTuber known for her traveling videos, fashion tutorials, makeup tutorials and DIY videos. She started college in Canada as a communications major thinking that it would be mainly about social media. She decided to drop out when she discovered that it was not what she wanted. After she dropped out, she came to a different school in California for a visual media program. She decided to drop out of this college as well after feeling like she was not learning well.

12) Zoella

Zoella is another beauty YouTuber who chose not to go to college. She attempted to go to college but she could not get herself to go. She has severe anxiety which prevented her from knowing what she wanted to do. Rather than going to college, Zoella did an apprenticeship and other jobs.

13) Nathan Zed

Nathan Zed also dropped out of college after realizing that it was not the right fit for him. College was very stressful for him. He states that the first year of college was a good experience but started to dislike school. Nathan was a student at Virginia Tech and uploads videos drawing attention to different social issues occurring today in society.

14) Crea  Tyler

Crea Tyler is a 19-year-old college drop out to pursue his career in film. Crea is very successful after dropping out of college and is able to travel the world. He documents his experiences and his lavish lifestyle. Crea Tyler is friends with members of the Clout House and other YouTubers. He instantly became popular and many admire him, due to his lifestyle that many aspire to have.

15) Tori Sterling

Tori Sterling is another YouTuber who dropped out of college. She attended the University of Alabama. Classmates made fun of  Tori while in school because of her YouTube channel. Also, she had a hard time adapting to Alabama since she is from Philadelphia. She joined a sorority and discovered that lifestyle was nothing she was looking for. Also, she felt herself becoming distant from her fans because she was not able to upload as much.
